Leeds woman honoured by The King's Trust after launching therapy hub
33 year old Shaunna Tiffany leaned on her experience in the care system to set up her business
A Leeds woman has collected an award from The King's Trust - after her experiences in care system inspired her to start her own business.
33 year old Shauna Tiffany started Lighthouse Therapy Hub, which was supported by the charity founded by King Charles.
She's been named as a 'Young Changemaker' at a ceremony in London last night
She said, “Coming from a background with limited family foundations, I often lacked a safety net. I wasn’t used to having a backing of people."
"The King’s Trust became the support I never had but always needed."
Her early interactions with play therapy influenced her to start her own business, despite initial uncertainty about whether it would work.
With guidance from The King’s Trust's Enterprise programme, Tiffany was able to transform her idea into reality.
Lighthouse Therapy Hub has helped over 400 people seek support through therapy.
Tiffany is now a King's Trust Young Ambassador and collaborates with both schools and local councils.
“Finding the right support at the right time can be incredibly challenging, especially when you don’t have a strong support network to rely on during tough times" Tiffany said.
