Doncaster man jailed for 'cowardly and vicious' attack on woman in Leeds hotel
The 38 year old attacked the woman - then attempted to get her to drop the case
A Doncaster man has been jailed for five years and three months after attacking a woman at a Leeds hotel.
38 year old Lee Chadbourne of Huntingdon Road admitted to Grievous Bodily Harm and Perverting the Course of Justice and was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court earlier today.
A judge heard how, on August 30 2025, Chadbourne grabbed a wine bottle and swung it towards the woman’s head.
She was then repeatedly punched and kicked, suffering a tear in her eye which later needed surgery.
Chadbourne later handed himself into police but then contacted the victim, trying to get her to drop charges against him.
BTP Police Constable Andy Jones said: “This was a cowardly and vicious attack carried out by an extremely violent man.
“I want to commend the victim’s bravery in reporting what happened and supporting our investigation despite Chadbourne’s best efforts to intimidate her into dropping the charges.
“It is testament to her character that she refused to allow him to control her and instead assisted us in bringing him to justice. Chadbourne is a nasty and manipulative individual who deserves every day of his five years and three months behind bars.
“Violence towards women and girls will never be tolerated, and just like in this case we will do everything in our power to put offenders before the courts.”
