Kasabian will go down as Leeds Festival's first ever Thursday night headliner
Leeds Festival is set to officially begin today (Thursday 27 August), marking the first time the event has a Thursday night headliner.
Kasabian will take to the stage tonight at Bramham Park.
Early bird ticket holders have already secured their spots at the Bramham Park campsite, with thousands more festival-goers anticipated to arrive throughout the day.
Among the other headliners set to perform at the festival are Florence and the Machine, Charli XCX, and Fontaines DC.
Meanwhile, there is a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms today, issued by the Met Office.
Clare Nasir is a meteorologist from there and said: "After some thundery rain on Thursday when people arrive, we could see some torrential downpours with gusty winds as well as some thunder and lightning.
"Into Friday, it's pretty much a case of sporadic bursts of rain, which could be heavy.
Some sunshine is still expected over the weekend
"In between, a little sunshine is possible, but temperatures won't be as high. So on Friday, only 20 degrees Celsius as opposed to 24 and 25 a few days before.
"Then into the weekend, we do have a band of rain moving in on Saturday. So, it could be a dry start as people start waking up.
Clare went on to say: "But, there will be some rain through the middle to the latter part of the day. It's skirting in from the west and Leeds will probably be on the northern edge of it. So it could be patchy at times and then showers will follow.
Into Sunday, probably a better day. Yes, still some showers around, a cooler night and temperatures probably 19 degrees through the afternoon."
