Leeds Rhinos vice-captain Kallum Watkins has agreed to remain at Headingley for a further year.

The 35 year old has put pen to paper on a contract extension lasting until the end of the 2027 Super League season.

He has played over 300 fixtures in Rhinos colours and marked his 350th Super League appearance on Friday in the win over Toulouse.

He has also been part of multiple Grand Final and Challenge Cup winning teams.

Head Coach Brad Arthur told the Rhinos website: "Kallum is exactly the type of player every coach wants in their squad"

"His standards are outstanding and he leads through his actions every single day. He's an experienced player who still performs at a high level, but what impresses me most is the example he sets around training and the way he helps develop the younger members of our squad."
