Investigation underway after man stabbed in Wakefield

An investigation is getting underway after a man was stabbed in Wakefield. Police say they were called to Benjamin Street just before 4pm yesterday. He was taken straight to hospital, his injuries aren't thought to be life threatening. A statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "Detectives in Wakefield are appealing for information after a man was stabbed on Benjamin Street yesterday afternoon.

"Officers on patrol in the city came across the man at 3.45pm yesterday (25 September).

"He was taken to hospital by ambulance where his injuries are thought to be serious but not life threatening."
