Three teenagers died when the car they were travelling in, crashed into a ditch

The inquests into three men who died after their car crashed into a ditch, has been opened and adjourned.

Koby Jones, 18, Shay Doyle and Daniel Grace, both 19, were travelling on Bramley Lane, in West Bretton near Wakefield, on 24 January, when their vehicle left the road.

The three men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Oliver Longstaff, the area coroner at Wakefield Coroner's Court called it a "tragic incident".

Koby, an apprentice joiner from near Flockton was the driver of the car, with Shay, a shop assistant from Dewsbury and Daniel, an apprentice joiner from Ossett both in the rear of the vehicle.

All three cases were adjourned until a later date, and the opening of the inquest lasted for around 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, another passenger in the vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries, according to West Yorkshire Police.
