Huddersfield woman charged with showing support for Hamas

A Huddersfield woman has been charged with a terror offence after allegedly showing support for the banned Palestinian militant group Hamas.

40 year old Marian Milenovic, of Haigh Street, faces an accusation of expressing an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation, contrary to Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

She is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The military wing of Hamas was proscribed by the government in 2001, with the poltical wing of the organisation being banned in 2021.
