Further arrests made as Huddersfield murder probe continues

Two more have been arrested as detectives continue a probe into a fatal stabbing

Two additional arrests have been made as the investigation into the murder of a 20-year-old man in Huddersfield continues.

A 25-year-old man from Huddersfield was detained today (January 22) on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing on Greenwood Street on Tuesday January 20.

Another 25-year-old man was also arrested this morning on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Five men from Huddersfield, aged between 48 and 51, who were arrested previously on suspicion of murder, remain in police custody for questioning.

Emergency services were called to Greenwood Street at 4.14pm on Tuesday after a report of a stabbing in the area.

The victim was found in the street with a serious injury and taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Officers are still appealing for information about suspicious activities or disturbances in Greenwood Street or Orchard Street over the last few days.
