A woman and four men from Huddersfield have been jailed for their roles in violent attacks on two men during separate incidents in July and August 2024.

The group was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on 19th January 2026, receiving prison terms of up to 26 years for offences including kidnap, assault, and torture.

Detectives began investigating the first incident on 17th July 2024, when a man reported being held against his will at a house in the Newsome area of Huddersfield.

Police said the victim, a Kirklees man, had been taken to the house on 10th July, where he was tortured for days, including with weapons. He managed to escape on 16th July and sought help.

A separate incident was reported on 7th August 2024, when ambulance services informed officers that a man in his 20s was found with serious head injuries at a Huddersfield address.

It is understood the victim was attacked at another location by members of the group, including a woman. He escaped by fleeing through a window and sought help elsewhere.

Those sentenced were:

Natalie Louise Dennison, aged 45, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 21 years with five years extended licence for section 18 assault, two counts of sexual assault, and kidnap in the July attack. She also received a sentence for another section 18 assault in August 2024.

Makyle Francois, aged 24, of Huntingdon Avenue, Huddersfield, received 18 years plus four years extended licence for section 18 assault and kidnap in July. He was also sentenced for another section 18 assault in August.

Joshua Bhatti, aged 31, of Bradford Road, Huddersfield, was given 18 years plus four years licence for section 18 assault and false imprisonment in July. He also received a sentence for the August assault.

Curtis Hainds, aged 19, of Dewhirst Road, Huddersfield, was sentenced to two years and nine months for section 18 assault in August.

Aiden Bridges, aged 27, of Orchard Street, Huddersfield, received four years and eight months for section 18 assault in August.

Following the sentencing, DC Andy Buckingham of Kirklees CID commented, “We welcome the sentencing of these persons today for their roles in what were dreadful offences involving shocking levels of violence.

“Both victims were seriously assaulted with weapons, including an iron in the August attack, and very much feared they could even be killed had they not escaped when they did.

“They were also both left with deep trauma as a result of these attacks, with the second victim requiring long-lasting hospital treatment for some very serious head injuries.

“I hope seeing these individuals sentenced today will help bring them some measure of comfort and closure from what were awful ordeals.”
