Two in court charged with firearms offences in Huddersfield and Holmfirth

Two men have appeared in court charged with firearms offences after a police operation in Huddersfield and Holmfirth last week.

44 year old Dale Myers, of Taylor Hill Road, Huddersfield, is charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without certificates.

Darren Frost, 54 and of Elm Avenue, Thongsbridge, Holmfirth, faces charges for possession of a firearm and ammunition without certificates, possession of a firearm when prohibited for life, and possession of controlled drugs.

Both have been remanded into custody ahead of another appearance at Leeds Crown Court on October 12.

The arrests happened after armed officers stopped a vehicle in New Laithe Road, Huddersfield last Thursday.

Two women, aged 36 and 45, remain on police bail.
