Beloved former Huddersfield Station cat Bolt has died in an accident, it has been confirmed.

Bolt had retired from station life in July last year, settling into a new home alongside a member of station staff.

He passed away after a road traffic accident.

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director for TPE said: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bolt. He was a much-loved member of the Huddersfield station family and brought joy and comfort to so many people over the years.

“From his early days learning from Felix to becoming a star in his own right, Bolt left his paw prints on the hearts of colleagues, customers and fans across the world. He will be very sadly missed.”

Bolt arrived at the transport hub in 2018, initially serving as a deputy to the station's other cat and Senior Pest Controller Felix.

He took on Felix's role after he sadly passed away in 2023 and kep an eye on the platform until he was rehomed, ahead of major engineering work.

Bolt and Felix became viral sensations online, with their Facebook page getting more than 24 million views every year.
