Four arrested after hedgehog spray painted blue in Leeds
Two men and two teenagers have been questioned
Four people have been arrested after a hedgehog was found sprayed with blue paint in Leeds earlier this month.
Two teenage boys aged 15 and 17 and two men aged 21 and 44 are being questioned on suspicion of offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
All four have been bailed pending further enquiries.
The animal was found last Monday evening (July 13) in Yeadon, with the adult female hedgehog covered in a non-water based paint.
Vets at Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue say the animal couldn't curl up properly and had breathing difficulties because of the hard to remove paint.
Anyone with information about what happened to the small mammal is being urged to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
