A Leeds man has been jailed for more than two years after the rioting in Harehills, Leeds last summer.

26 year old Jordan Dutton, of Cowper Crescent, admitted violent disorder and arson at Leeds Crown Court following events on the evening of July 18.

Crowds clashed with police and torched a bus after disorder broke out in the north Leeds suburb.

Dutton is the 18th to be convicted following the investigation. 35 people in total have been charged.

He'll spend two years four months behind bars.

Chief Superintendent Steve Dodds, of West Yorkshire Police, said: “We welcome the sentencing of Jordan Dutton as part of our continuing investigation into the disgraceful disorder committed in Harehills last summer.

“At the time we promised residents we would not stop till we had identified everyone we possibly could who was involved in offending and took action against them.

“We are determined to keep that promise and bring everyone involved in the Harehills disorder to justice. We also remain keen to hear from anyone who has information which could assist our investigation. “
