Man arrested after pedestrian, 72, fatally injured by lorry in Halifax

A 72 year old man has died after being hit by a lorry in Halifax this morning.

Police were called to the crossroads where Broad Street meets Orange Street at 10:29am this morning (February 18).

A DAF articulated HGV was involved in the collision with the man, who was a pedestrian.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident, are being urged to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
