Halifax motorcyclist dies in Peak District crash as police seek key witnesses

Derbyshire Police have launched an appeal to trace a driver who may have witnessed a fatal crash, which left a man in his 60s from West Yorkshire dead.

The driver, from Halifax, was riding a BMW 1250R bike which was in a collision with a Toyota Hilux, which was towing a trailer.

This crash happened at 1:40pm on Sunday (July 5) on the A6 at Taddington, at the junction leading to Preistcliffe.

The family of the motorcylist has been told and is being supported.

Detectives are eager to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened, specifically the driver of a champagne coloured Volvo XC 4x4 believed to have stopped at the site.
