Fourth arrest after shooting in Huddersfield

Police arrested a man at a hotel in Wakefield this afternoon

Police have arrested a fourth man in connection with a shooting in Huddersfield earlier this week.

This afternoon officers attended a hotel in Silkwood Park, Wakefield as part of enquires into the firearms discharge which took place on Friar Place in Huddersfield on Tuesday.

Nobody was harmed but damage was caused to a building.

While at the hotel, a man wanted in connection with the incident was identified. The 20-year-old, who is from Huddersfield, initially fled and suffered an injury following a fall.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and also arrested on suspicion of firearm offences.

A scene remains in place at the hotel.

Two men, aged 18 and 23, both from Huddersfield, were arrested on Wednesday and a 19-year-old Huddersfield man was arrested on Thursday. The three were all arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and have been released under investigation or bail.
