Former Wakefield teacher charged with sexual offences dating to the 1990s

He's accused of a total of 16 offences against two female victims

A former Wakefield teacher has been charged with sexual offences against children dating back to the 1990s.

John Hoyle, who is 69-year-old and of Brockadale Avenue in Pontefract, is facing a total of 16 charges related to incidents involving two female victims who were under the age of 16 at the time.

These charges include nine counts of indecent assault reported between 1993 and 1994, three counts of rape also reported during that period, and four additional counts of indecent assault said to have occurred between 1998 and 1999.

Hoyle has been bailed ahead of an appearance at Leeds Magistrates Court on April 15.
