Huddersfield Town have signed forward Ashley Fletcher on a two-year contract, their first addition ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Fletcher moves to Huddersfield on a free transfer from fellow League One side Blackpool, where he was involved in 27 goals in 50 appearances last season.

Born in Keighley, Fletcher began his career at Bolton Wanderers and Manchester United academies.

He signed his first professional contract with United and had an loan stint with Barnsley, helping them secure promotion from League One during the 2015/16 season.

His career progressed with moves to West Ham United, Middlesbrough, and Watford, alongside loan periods at Sunderland, New York Red Bulls, Wigan Athletic, and Sheffield Wednesday.

Fletcher returned to League One with Blackpool in 2024, where he ended last season with 21 goals and six assists across all competitions, including 15 goals in the league.
