£2.7m full-fibre broadband investment will benefit 17,000 homes and businesses in Calderdale

A £2.7 million full-fibre broadband upgrade for Calderdale customers of Virgin Media O2’s network is on the way.
The investment has been announced by wholesale full-fibre network provider nexfibre, who say up to 17,000 homes and businesses in the borough will benefit as a result.
Nexfibre says deal has been welcomed by Lord Stockwood, Minister for Investment, and will give local residents faster access to full-fibre broadband, “futureproofing” their connectivity needs for the decades ahead.
The fibre network will be available to all internet service providers, ensuring local people have a wide choice of broadband services, says nexfibre.
Following the approval, homes and businesses connected to Virgin Media O2’s network will be upgraded to full-fibre connectivity.
Rajiv Datta, Chief Executive Officer of nexfibre, said: “Full-fibre broadband is a crucial driver of economic growth, and our investment in Calderdale will help deliver better access to education, jobs, and opportunities that can transform lives and uplift entire communities.”
