Daniel Farke in no rush to agree to new contract as Leeds prepare for new Premier League season

Daniel Farke has refused to discuss his own contract situation, insisting he has more important topics to speak about.
Leeds have tied down several key players this summer, with a contract extension in June for skipper Ethan Ampadu, while Joe Rodon and Jayden Bogle signed new deals this week.
Farke is in the final 12 months of a four-year deal he signed when arriving at the club in July 2023, but insists now is not the time to discuss his future.
He said: “We’re on August 20, the transfer window shuts in 10 days and two days before the start of the new season – I’ve more important topics to speak about than my contract.
“Once the transfer window has shut or in the international break when there are no other topics, but right now this is not important, my only concentration is on starting this week as well as possible.”
Leeds launch the new season on Saturday at Nottingham Forest having finished nine points above the relegation zone in 14th place in their first season back in the top flight following promotion.
They have added Harry Wilson, James Trafford, Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi to their squad during the summer and are hopeful of adding further depth to their squad before the transfer window closes.
Farke added: “I won’t speak about positions and profiles. I’m very happy with our transfer window so far. I think we’ve done excellent business already and I’m very happy with my group.”
