Derelict Bingley park lodge to be sold off as "rare renovation project"
Prince of Wales Park Lodge was built in the 1880s as accommodation for a park keeper, and is currently owned by Bradford Council.
A DERELICT lodge in a Bingley park will be sold at auction later this month, and has been described as a “rare renovation project.”
Prince of Wales Park Lodge was built in the 1880s as accommodation for a park keeper, and is currently owned by Bradford Council.
The two-bedroom building has been vacant for a number of years, and was recently listed as one of over 150 assets Bradford Council planned to sell off in a bid to balance its budget.
On August 26 the building and its gardens will go under the hammer at an online property auction by Pugh.
The lodge will have a guide price of £160,000.
The listing describes the building as “a rare renovation project comprising a detached, stone-built dwelling within the grounds of the Prince of Wales Park.
“The accommodation briefly comprises an entrance hall, lounge, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
“The property sits within an excellent plot (approximately 717 sqm) with gardens and is located at the south-western boundary of the park, providing great views and a fantastic environment.
“This is a rare opportunity to acquire a unique property to renovate before occupying or bringing to market.”
The listing points out that the lodge and its gardens are classed as a village green.
