Six Halifax men convicted over historical child sexual offences

The victim was aged between 12 and 15 when the abuse occurred from 2006 to 2009.

Six men have been convicted over the rape and sexual abuse of a child in Calderdale.

The victim was aged between 12 and 15 when the abuse occurred from 2006 to 2009.

In 2019, she came forward to tell police what had happened to her.

Eight men were charged in August 2024 with offences including rape, sexual activity with a child, and attempted rape.

Following a six-week trial that began in February, a jury at Bradford Crown Court found six men guilty of the following crimes:

Mohammed Adnan, 44, from Halifax, guilty of one count of sexual assault

Mohammed Shebhan, 42, from Halifax, guilty of two counts of rape

Amazar Ali, 53, from Halifax, guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child

Naveed Anjum, 49, from Halifax, guilty of one count of sexual activity with a child

Imran Hussain, 50, from Halifax, guilty of attempted rape

Adal Manaf, 48, from Halifax, guilty of one count of rape

They've been remanded in custody and are scheduled for sentencing on May 22.

During the proceedings, Khalid Kamran, 35, from Leeds, was found not guilty of rape, while Mohammed Mahmood, 40, from Halifax, will face a retrial on February 1 2027 after his case resulted in a hung jury.
