A Bradford woman has been sentenced to 21 years and six months in prison after officers found £8.5m worth of heroin in her home.

34-year-old Sidrah Nosheen, of Woodside Road, Wyke, admitted her involvement in a group that smuggled heroin from Pakistan to the UK and distributed it nationwide.

National Crime Agency officers arrested Nosheen in June 2024, uncovering 85kg of the Class A drug in her back bedroom.

The room had been transformed into a heroin processing plant, equipped with scales, buckets, tools, and a wallpaper pasting table.

Various bags filled with heroin were found alongside clothing boxes used to conceal the drugs, some ready to be opened and others already processed.

Phone messages showed Nosheen had been in regular contact with an accomplice in Pakistan, discussing heroin deliveries and the logistics of distribution within the UK.

Evidence also revealed that she supplied multi-kilo consignments of heroin to contacts across the country and once collected £250,000 for the group from another criminal in Bradford.

She was initially due to stand trial at Bradford Crown Court but changed her plea to guilty, admitting conspiracy to import and supply heroin.

Rick MacKenzie, senior investigating officer for the National Crime Agency, said:

“To outward appearances, Sidrah Nosheen lived an unremarkable life in Bradford.

"But the truth is that she was at the centre of a plot to move large amounts of heroin around the country, dealing in the addiction and death that are inseparable from the Class A drugs trade.

"She didn’t give a second’s thought to the damage heroin wreaks on society, she was solely interested in making money.

"The NCA works at home and abroad to protect the public from the threat of Class A drugs.”
