Environment Agency investigates massive illegal waste dump in Bradford
It's believed to include both household and business waste, with links to organised crime being looked into.
The Environment Agency is investigating after several thousands tonnes of rubbish was dumped illegally on a site in Bradford.
Investigators are now now working with Police and Bradford Council to trace those responsible for the waste in Midland Road, close to Valley Parade.
The site was first reported on July 1 and has since been sealed off.
It's believed to include both household and business waste, with links to organised crime being looked into.
Ben Hocking, from the Environment Agency, said: “We have launched an investigation to find those responsible for illegal waste dumping in central Bradford so they can be held to account."
"We are assessing the site’s environmental impact and making enquiries to trace the landowner to ensure the site is secured. Waste crime scars communities and under our 10 Point Plan we’re acting quickly to tackle illegal activity and shut down sites.”
