Bradford man jailed for online child sexual offences
The 24 year old targeting young girls on Snapchat
A Bradford man has been jailed for six years after admitting to online child sex offences.
25 year old Rehan Ali, of Falsgrave Avenue, admitted two counts of inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, making an indecent photograph of a child, attempting to incident a girl aged 13 -15 to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Bradford Crown Court heard how he used Snapchat to contact two girls as young as seven and eight years old.
He also contacted a girl he thought was 13 on Facebook and WhatsApp - the profile was actually a decoy account for an online predator hunting group.
PC William Metcalf of West Yorkshire Police said: “We welcome the sentenced handed down to Ali today. Ali used social media to target and exploit children."
“He deliberately contacted underage girls online for his own sexual gratification.
“As a police force, we remain committed to safeguarding children and would encourage parents and young people to report any concerns about suspicious online content to us.”
