A 77-year-old woman has died after being hit by a HGV in Bradford.

The crash happened on Harrogate Road towards Killinghall Road at around 5.20 pm yesterday.

Police later received reports of a woman's body being found on Neville Road - its thought the woman was dragged by the lorry to where she was later found

A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of West Yorkshire Police said: "This is an extremely upsetting incident involving an elderly pedestrian in Bradford. Our thoughts go out to the family, who are being supported by specially trained officers."

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the Harrogate Road/Killinghall Road area and may have dash cam footage of the HGV or the pedestrian at the traffic lights to come forward."
