Bradford man handed six year sentence for child sexual offences
The 57 year old was found to have more than 250 indecent images of children
A Bradford man has been handed a six year three month prison term for multiple child sexual offences.
Michael Greasby, 57 and of Hatfield Road, admitted eight offences, including attempts to engage in sexual communication with a child, inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, attempting to meet a girl under 16, and possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
He was arrested after police received reports that Greasby was engaging in online communication with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, who was actually a decoy from an online child abuse group.
He was arrested in March 2023 and police uncovered more than 250 indecent images of children on his phone.
Greasby was jailed last Friday at Bradford Crown Court.
Detective Constable Adam Flaxington of West Yorkshire Police said:
“Greasby’s offending was abhorrent, he was actively trying to encourage the sexual abuse of children.
“Whilst he was communicating with a decoy, he still showed his intent for causing harm to children.
“We are committed as a Police force to protect victims of child sexual abuse and finding those people responsible and bring them before the courts.”
