Batley murder victim named as investigation continues
The body of a woman was found following an armed robbery in Dewsbury
Police investigating the suspected murder of a woman in Batley have now named the victim as 21 year old Dewsbury woman Courtney Angus.
Her body was discovered at a home on Norfolk Street following reports of an armed robbery on Saturday.
The incident began shortly after 9.21pm when officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at the Asda store in Dewsbury.
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene and a knife was seized.
Following his arrest, the man told officers that a woman, who he believed to be deceased, could be found at an address in Batley.
Officers attended the property on Norfolk Street, where they found the body of Courtney.
The same man was then arrested on suspicion of murder.
