Man dies after car hits wall and telegraph poll in Batley

A 36 year old man died in hospital after the collision early yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal crash in Batley.

The incident happened at 2am yesterday (March 15) when a red Vauxhall Astra left Cross Bank Road and hit a wall and telegraph pole near the junction with Coal Pit Mews.

No other vehicles were involved.

The 36 year old driver sustained critical injuries and passed away in hospital later on the same day.

Officers want anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to get in touch on 101.
