Appeal after e-bike collision in Leeds

An investigation is underway after a collision between an e-bike and pedal cycle in Leeds.

Police say they were called to the canal towpath in Stourton earlier this week.

The cyclist, a man in his 70's ended up with a broken hip. Police say the rider of the e-bike left the scene.

They have released a picture of a person they'd like to speak to.

West Yorkshire Police said: "We would like to speak to them in relation to a collision on the canal towpath in the Stourton area of Leeds earlier this week.

"It was reported that at around 12.30pm on Tuesday (22 September), a collision has occurred on the towpath near Skelton Grange Road involving an e-bike and a pedal cycle. The rider of the e-bike left the scene.

"The pedal cyclist, a man in his 70s, was taken by ambulance to hospital where he has received treatment for a broken hip.

"The e-bike rider is described as male, in his late teens to early 20s, wearing all grey clothing and a face covering."
