71-year-old woman dies after collision involving taxi in Bradford

Police investigate incident and appeal for witnesses

A 71-year-old woman has died following a road traffic collision on Thornton Road in Bradford.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 11th April, when officers were alerted at 10.17am by the ambulance service to a serious collision involving a taxi.

The woman, a passenger in the grey Toyota Prius taxi, was pronounced dead at the scene despite receiving medical attention.

The taxi driver, a 72-year-old man, was arrested at the location on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers from West Yorkshire's Major Collision Enquiry Team are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or possess dash cam footage related to the incident.
