A man has been jailed for 18 years for child sex offences.

37 year old Andrew Howell, who previously lived in Wisbech, was convicted by a jury at Peterborough Crown Court.

His crimes took place in the Wisbech and King's Lynn area between 2021 and 2023.

The offences came to light when one of the victims called a helpline to report the abuse.

In July 2024, Howell faced charges including 13 counts of sexual activity with a child, rape and attempted rape of a child, making indecent photographs of children, and inciting sexual activity with a child.

Despite denying the charges at his initial court appearance in August 2024, the jury found him guilty at his trial on 1st December 2025.

One of the victims addressed Howell in a statement read in court, describing him as a "manipulative and insecure monster."

She expressed relief in his imprisonment, stating it allowed her to go to sleep peacefully and acknowledged her personal growth despite the trauma.

The other victim spoke about the significance of the sentencing in her healing process, mentioning the freedom and strength she has found in her life now filled with happiness and love.

Detective Constable Christina Wilkinson commended the victims for their bravery, highlighting their courage and honesty as vital to securing Howell's conviction.

Wilkinson also reassured individuals who have experienced abuse that the police would provide support and take action against offenders.
