Norfolk PC sacked for violence and swearing directed at suspects

A Norfolk police constable's been dismissed for gross misconduct over two incidents where he was ruled to have used excessive force with suspects and an instance of using foul language.
The first allegation dating back to 23rd June 2024, saw PC William Parker accused of repeatedly swearing and using derogatory language while transporting a detainee in van to King's Lynn police station.
It was also alleged that excessive force was used when removing the suspect, who ended up with an injury to the face.
A hearing found that PC Parker's actions breached the standards expected of police officers regarding authority, respect, and courtesy, as well as the proper use of force.
The second allegation involved PC Parker's use of excessive force during an arrest on 3rd October 2024 involving a suspect who suffered abusive verbal treatment and was pulled downstairs in a manner described as resembling an assault.
Across both incidents, the panel ruled that PC Parker's conduct constituted gross misconduct, warranting dismissal without notice.
PC Parker has a right to appeal, whilst h the Norfolk Constabulary has been directed to submit a report to the College of Policing seeking to have him placed on the police barred list.
