Arrests, charges and disruption of organised immigration crime
It's part of a police operation in Norfolk
A week of intensified enforcement activity targeting organised immigration crime has resulted in 23 arrests across Norfolk, as part of Operation Lockstream, a National Police Chief Council-led initiative.
Officers co-ordinated activity across Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies, working alongside partners from Immigration Enforcement to tackle organised immigration crime, illegal working, criminal exploitation and wider criminality linked to cross-border offending.
The week of action took place between 15 and 20 June 2026. Specialist resources, including the Commercial Vehicle Unit and Moonshot (ANPR) team, supported enforcement activity with a joint day of action taking place in Eye, Suffolk.
The activity resulted in a range of enforcement outcomes, including immigration arrests, drug seizures and the disruption of individuals suspected of involvement in organised criminality.
Across the six days of activity in Norfolk, officers made 23 arrests, including:
arrests for immigration offences, including illegal entry, suspected illegal working, overstaying visas and immigration absconding.
individuals arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and going equipped for theft.
Three individuals were charged and remanded in connection with significant drug-related offences including possession with intent to supply. Two individuals were also charged and remanded for multiple shop theft offences.
Significant seizures included:
More than 100g of cocaine with an estimated value of approximately £10,000.
Approximately 10kg of cannabis, with an estimated street value of £100,000.
£1,000 in cash suspected to be linked to criminal activity.
A fraudulent driving licence.
Several vehicles seized as part of enforcement action.
One of the busiest days of the operation resulted in eight arrests, including offenders involved in significant drug-related offending and a variety of immigration offences.
Operation Lockstream demonstrates the importance of collaborative working between police and immigration partners in identifying and disrupting those who seek to exploit immigration systems while engaging in wider criminality.
The operation also highlighted the value of specialist policing teams and proactive enforcement activity in safeguarding communities, disrupting organised crime groups and bringing offenders before the courts.
Sargeant Josh Preston said: "Operation Lockstream provided an important opportunity to work closely with Immigration Enforcement and partner agencies to target organised immigration crime and the associated criminality that can impact our communities.
"The week of action resulted in a number of significant arrests, charges and drug seizures, while also allowing us to identify and disrupt individuals involved in immigration offending and wider criminal activity.
"We would like to thank all officers, staff and partner agencies who contributed to the operation and helped deliver these positive results."
