Man charged after a stabbing in Wolverhampton fight

Police are investigating disorder where men were found with stab injuries

A man’s been charged as part of an ongoing investigation into a major fight in Wolverhampton, where men were found with stab injuries.

Officers were called to Staveley Road on Monday afternoon (27th October).

31-year-old Miqdad Ahmed, from Telford, has since been charged with assault.

Three other men have been released on police bail.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said, "We've charged a man as we continue to investigate disorder in Wolverhampton, where men were found with stab injuries.

"We've been working hard to investigate the circumstances around what happened, after we were called to Staveley Road at around 4.45pm on Monday (27 October).

"Miqdad Ahmed was arrested as part of our enquiries, and subsequently charged with assault.

"Our investigation is ongoing and three other men have been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

"Two others were released with no further action.

"We understand that recent incidents in Wolverhampton are worrying, and we have more officers - both armed and unarmed - on the streets.

"Our message is clear: criminality has no place in the city.

"Our officers are out talking with residents, business owners, and visitors to make sure everyone in the city feels as safe as possible.

"Meanwhile investigators are working around the clock as several enquiries continue at pace."
