A seventh man has been arrested as part of a police investigation into a shooting and disorder in Willenhall.

The 27-year-old was held in the Beechdale area of Walsall at around 6pm on Saturday on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

He has since been released on bail with conditions while the investigation continues.

Six other men arrested on suspicion of affray as part of the investigation have also been bailed with conditions.

The shooting and disorder happened on Temple Road in Willenhall on Friday.

Police said one person suffered injuries which were not from gunshots and which are not life-threatening.

Temporary Chief Inspector Kate Tromans, of Walsall Police, said: "We understand the real concern that this violent incident has caused in the community."

She said: "There will be more visibility from our officers in the area today and over the coming days to reassure the community and give people the chance to talk to us."

She added: "Our Major Crime Unit is working hard to understand the full circumstances of what happened, and bring everyone involved into custody."

Police are continuing to appeal for information.

Anyone with information should contact West Midlands Police on 101, quoting log 4275.

The force has also set up a web page where people can send dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage directly to investigators.
