West Midlands rail users reminded to check before travelling over Christmas
West Midlands Railway (WMR) say it will be operating an amended timetable over the festive period
Those preparing to travel on West Midlands Railway (WMR) services over Christmas are being urged to make sure they're planning their journeys and check they're still running as scheduled.
WMR say it will be operating an amended timetable through the festive period with no trains running on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and train services finishing earlier than usual today on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
People who are also set to travel with WMR’s sister brand London Northwestern Railway (LNR) are also being warned of vital track upgrades which are happening near Milton Keynes between 27 December and the 5 January.
Rail replacement services will be in operation on some routes to and from London Euston during this time.
Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience director, said: “We’re encouraging passengers travelling over Christmas to plan their journeys in advance.
"Due to engineering works, rail replacement buses may be in operation for certain routes, so make sure to check journey planners and ensure you leave plenty of time to travel.”
Essential track maintenance work is also set to place on some WMR routes which will see on the 28 December services between Worcester and Kidderminster/Bromsgrove operated by rail replacement buses until 4pm.
Additionally, overnight from the 31 December to the 1 January routes between Birmingham and Lichfield Trent Valley/Tame Bridge Parkway will be operated by rail replacement buses from 10pm on 31 December until 10am on 1 January.
