A 34-year-old man has been charged after a police car was rammed and more than 500 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine were found in Walsall.

Jatinder Singh, from Birmingham, has been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, criminal damage, dangerous driving, and driving whilst disqualified and without insurance.

Police say plain-clothes officers became suspicious of a Ford Focus on Pleck Road shortly before 12.45pm on Wednesday (1 October).

Officers parked their unmarked police car in front of the Focus to stop it from leaving.

When officers went to approach the car on foot, it was rammed into the police car.

A search found 267 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine in the car.

A further 245 wraps were found at a property.

The drugs are estimated to be worth around £5,000.
