Walsall man charged with assault and having an axe in a public place

It follows an incident on Leamore Lane on Monday (10 Mar).

A man from Walsall has been charged with having an axe in a public place and assaulting another man, following an incident on Leamore Lane on Monday morning.

A man was allegedly threatened with a weapon and attacked shortly before 9am.

Gary Friend, 67, will appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on 3 April for his first hearing.

He has been bailed with strict conditions until then.
