Cannabis plants worth around £1.7million have been found in a disused Walsall factory.

They were discovered by officers at the factory on Midland Road early yesterday morning (11th January).

1737 plants were seized during the warrant.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with producing a Class B drug.

Mark Collins, neighbourhood policing supervisor for St Matthew’s, said: “This was one of the biggest hauls of cannabis discovered in the Walsall area. A huge amount of cannabis has now been taken off our streets.”
