Two men have been charged with robbery after an elderly man was assaulted and robbed while on his mobility scooter in Walsall.

The incident occurred on Paddock Lane on Tuesday, where an 82-year-old man was allegedly pushed out of his scooter and had his wallet containing money stolen.

Robert Clarke, aged 48, and Ryan Woolhouse, aged 40, both from Walsall, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court for their first hearing and have been remanded.

Police say reducing robbery offences is one of the force's priorities, adding that they're running Operation Ruby to tackle those committing crime, while working to spread crime prevention messaging across the region so people can take all reasonable steps possible to help keep themselves and their belongings safe.
