Two men have been charged two men following a serious assault in Aston last week.

Simon Gerbrengus, aged 43, from Erdington, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

Bibi Gilzgi, aged 30, of no fixed address, has also been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

Both men appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on the morning of 29 September and have been remanded in custody to next appear at Birmingham Crown court on 27 October.

A further 29-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Officers launched an investigation after a man was found with serious injuries at an address in Lower Tower Street, Birmingham, shortly before 12.30pm on Friday 26 September.

A 33-year-old man sadly died on Monday evening (29 Sept).

His family are being supported by specially trained officers as enquiries into what happened continue.
