Police have made two arrests after two firearms were seized from an address in Wolverhampton.

Searches were carried out by West Midlands Police at an address in Tettenhall Road, where officers found a sawn-off shotgun and a rifle being stored in a car outside.

Ammunition for both the shotgun and the rifle were found inside the car.

The two men arrested, aged 19 and 20, have been bailed while police enquiries continue.

West Midlands Police said:

"Our teams across the West Midlands are continuing their efforts against serious and organised crime.

"Every day we carry out warrants and operations aimed at taking weapons like these and the people who carry them off the streets.

"Under Operation Target, teams from West Midlands Police and colleagues from ROCU are working round the clock to take action against everything from firearms and drugs to modern-day slavery and financial crime."
