Three officers injured after M5 crash involving West Midlands police car

Three officers have been injured after a West Midlands police car was involved in a single vehicle collision on the M5 in Worcestershire this morning.

It happened at around 9am this morning on the Southbound carriageway between junction 3 for Kidderminster and junction 4 for Bromsgrove.

West Mercia Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The road was closed until around 11am but has since reopened.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Three members of our staff have been injured following a single-vehicle collision involving a marked West Midlands Police vehicle on the M5, between junctions 3 and 4, shortly before 9am this morning (6 February).

"Their injuries are still being assessed but are not believed to be life-threatening.

"We are liaising with West Mercia Police who are investigating the circumstances."
