Teenager charged after 15 year-old boy is stabbed in Birmingham

Police have charged a teenager following a stabbing in Bordesley Green.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted murder after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in Pretoria Road on Friday evening.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 8 July.

A 14-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed with strict conditions while our investigation continues.

Officers were called to Pretoria Road shortly before 7.30pm on Friday, where the boy was found with a stab wound.

He was taken to hospital though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are continuing their enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the events leading up to the assault.
