Two people arrested following assault outside Stourport Lidl
Four elderly people were involved in the altercation on Wednesday
Two people have been arrested following an assault outside a supermarket in Stourport in Worcestershire.
Four elderly people are reported to have been involved in the incident, which took place outside the Lidl on Vale Road on Wednesday afternoon (May 28th).
In the incident, a man aged 65 and a woman aged 71 were assaulted by a second woman aged 62 and a second man aged 67.
All four left the area following the incident, which West Mercia Police believe took place between 4pm and 8pm.
Following lines of enquiry, the 62-year-old woman and the 67-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm; they currently remain in police custody.
Officers from the force are now asking the public to get in touch with any information they may have.
Speaking on the case, Detective Inspector Warren Matthews from West Mercia Police said: "Enquiries are on-going to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and we are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage from Lidl car park.
“Please get in contact with us if you think you have information which could help in our investigation.”
