A 16-year-old has been charged with attempted murder as investigations into a disorder in Smethwick continue.

The teenager was arrested in south Birmingham on 24th June and faces two counts of attempted murder, violent disorder, and possession of a knife.

Two men, aged 37 and 39, were also arrested at the same address for suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. They have been released on bail as an investigation into their activities continues.

The incident occurred on Foundry Lane on 26th May, during which two men sustained injuries.

The 16-year-old is the third teenager charged in relation to this disorder, joining five other men facing charges.

Authorities are urging the public not to circulate video footage of the events to prevent distress and avoid influencing legal proceedings.
