A 20-year-old man from Shrewsbury has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of rape and assault by penetration in Telford.

Reaz Dixon, of Vennington Walk, was handed the custodial sentence at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 14th November.

The court heard how Dixon turned himself in at Malinsgate Police Station in January 2025, confessing to the sexual offences. Following his arrest, an investigation led to him being charged with four counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

Dixon pleaded guilty to two counts of rape but denied the remaining charges. A jury later found him guilty of two additional counts of rape and both counts of assault by penetration.

Detective Sergeant Os Malik, from Telford’s protecting vulnerable people team, praised the bravery of the victim and welcomed the outcome. He said:

“I am very grateful for the sentence the judge has handed to Dixon, who is clearly a very dangerous individual.

“I would like to commend his victim, who has been incredibly brave throughout this investigation. I hope the sentence can offer some form of closure and will enable them to move forward with their life.”
