Man convicted of raping woman after night out in West Bromwich
He will be sentenced in April
A man has ben convicted of raping a woman after a night out in West Bromwich.
Donovan Brown picked up the woman, who had been heavily drinking, and took her back to his home in Perry Barr where he raped her.
The 38-year-old was found guilty following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
He will be sentenced at the same court on 25 April.
The offence took place on the evening of August 3 2024 when Donovan drove the woman to his house despite her asking to be taking home.
CCTV showed Donovan with the woman and he was arrested days after the rape.
DC Daniel Folley, from West Midland Police's public protection unit, said: “Due to the brave actions of this woman in coming forward we were able to secure a conviction for a dangerous individual who took advantage of her vulnerabilities whilst she was on a night out.
"We hope her bravery encourages other people subjected to sexual abuse to come forward," he said.
