A man has appeared in Wolverhampton Crown Court via video link and pleaded not guilty to double murder in Wolverhampton.

The shooting happened in Leicester Street around 3:10am on September 19th 2025.

Syed Zain Ali, 32, was shot in September 2025

28-year-old Duaine Mills and 32-year-old Syed Zain both died from their injuries.

Mohammed Maneer Khan was arrested in November and later charged with two counts of murder, which he has pleaded not guilty to.

The 38-year-old, who wore a dark blue T-shirt when he pleaded not guilty, was also charged with attempted murder and two firearms offences which he denies.

Khan, of St Catharine's Close, Walsall, also denied a count of fraud on November 20, when he is alleged to have made a false representation to HM Passport Office.

34-year-old Yaseen Patel, of Bromford Way, Birmingham, who wore an orange sash over a black T-shirt, denied assisting an offender after allegedly driving Khan to HM Passport Office to apply for a passport under a false identity, the court heard.

Both defendants spoke only to confirm their names, to enter their pleas and to tell the judge they could hear him.

Judge Michael Chambers KC remanded them in custody to appear for trial, which is expected to last three weeks, starting on July 20.
